Duties Description Preparing and processing outgoing mail items to prepare for mail distribution and delivery systems, which includes collecting mail from all the mail carriers.
Distributing mail items to students at the mail facility and delivering mail to departments around campus, sometimes driving to campus facilities downtown.
Processing outgoing mail using the metering equipment.
Customer service related tasks; answering the phone, speaking to student/staff/faculty, and troubleshooting a variety of scenarios related to mail items.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions. When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.


This position may be filled from a mandatory reemployment list if one is in effect at the time of appointment.

Operating Needs:

Ability to sort, pick up, and deliver mail.
Must have a Valid NYS Driver's License required for delivering mail to residential areas and departments.
Ability to pick up and deliver items.
Ability to do moderate to heavy physical labor (lifting approximately 25 lbs).
